Saturday, May 7 is our 2022 kick-off for our club sponsored surf fishing. We will meet at Manresa State Beach at 0545 am.  Take San Andreas Road to the park, just past the railroad bridge. The main parking lot will be closed at that early hour, so we park outside.

There is very limited parking outside, so if there is none when you get there, proceed on to Oceanview Drive, turn right, then right again to a large parking lot. There are access stairs to the beach which will bring you out just a hundred yards or less from where the rest of us will be.  We will work mostly to the right (north) of where those stairs exit.

This area has been pretty productive in years past for Stripers, although I don’t know if many are being caught this year.

High tide is about 03:20 at 4.3’, Low tide is 10 am, so we will be fishing the middle of an ebb tide. Sunrise is 06:06, but there will be plenty of light at 05:45.

Please review the article on surf fishing on our club website for what to bring. It is on the drop down menu under KNOWLEDGE. And feel free to contact me by email or phone. sambishop@totlcom.com, 831-274-4024.

Everyone is welcome, but if you are a beginner, the beach is not the place to learn to cast. Steve Rudzinski has a session on the preceding Saturday where there will be plenty of experienced hands to assist.

I hope to see you at Manresa and the next surf fish-outs running through October!
